About Event

TASTE OF HARLINGEN is the museum’s primary fundraiser. This annual event allows patrons to taste our local restaurants’ cuisine while enjoying live music. Our Silent Auction gives our patrons the opportunity to bid on items donated by local businesses and individuals. The decorated courtyard forms a charming backdrop for the evening. Patrons can stroll around the grounds listening to a live band and visiting the restaurant tents. Seating at decorated tables is available under the trees. This special evening guarantees great conversation, delicious food and enticing aromas. Themed Costumes are welcome.

2023 Event

We are very excited that we can host this year’s annual fundraiser the Taste of Harlingen.

Our goal this year is to raise funds for Harlingen’s first hospital which needs major repairs.  We have obtained bids for the foundation and bracing of the walls.  To make the necessary repairs, we must raise $50,000.

Our main objective is the stabilization of the building.  We have the recommendation of a noted San Antonio Preservation Architect, and an Engineer who together have arrived at a plan for beginning the restoration currently needed.  Their recommendation has the required approval from the ‘Texas Historical Commission”, which is required as our hospital has a State Historical Designation.

If you want to support the museum, sponsorships in any denomination will be gladly accepted in person or by mail to PO Box 532347, Harlingen, TX  78553.  If you want to pay by credit card you can call Forrest Garling at 956-216-4904 or stop by the Museum at 2425 Boxwood (across from TSTC). Everyone stay safe and healthy!

Thank you,
